Banco Finantia was considered the most solid (financial soundness) and the most efficient (cost-to-income) among the seven main banks operating in Portugal, according to the 2018 “Top 250 EU Banks” ranking compiled by the prestigious British magazine The Banker.
The study/ranking carried out by The Banker was based on objective criteria and used several indicators, including size, financial strength and profitability, and was prepared using data as at 31 December 2017.
According to the same study, among the 250 largest European banks, Banco Finantia ranks fifth in financial soundness and sixth in efficiency, and 180th in terms of size.
Founded in 1926, The Banker, part of the Financial Times Group, is one of the most important magazines in the financial sector, with wide distribution in more than 180 countries. Around 60% of its readership is made up of CEOs and CFOs of their respective organisations.
