Banco Finantia participated in a syndicated loan arranged by CAF* in the amount of USD 297 million for Banco Cooperativo Sicredi (Brazil). This CAF A/B loan achieved a Social Loan classification and includes a USD 50 million Tranche A and USD 112 million of Tranche B.
This structure enabled the mobilisation of private capital from three additional international financial institutions alongside Banco Finantia: BNP Paribas (BNPP), Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) and the EcoBusiness Fund.
The investment will finance micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in both urban and rural areas, in municipalities with development indices below the Brazilian national average, as well as women-led MSMEs, thereby promoting business development, gender equality and financial inclusion.
This project not only highlights Banco Finantia’s commitment to positive social impact, but also strengthens its presence in the international financial market.
CAF is the Development Bank of Latin America, in which the Portuguese State is a shareholder.
