The Account Switching Service allows you to transfer, in a simple and secure manner, the payment services associated with a current account from one bank (Originating or Transferring Bank) to another (Receiving Bank).
This service is intended for individual clients (consumers) and micro-enterprises, facilitating the transfer of services such as standing orders, direct debits, and regular transfers, in accordance with the terms defined by Banco de Portugal.
The request must be submitted to Banco Finantia, as the receiving bank, by completing the Account Switching Service Request Form, in which the account holder:
In the case of accounts with more than one holder, the signature of all account holders is required.
Upon receipt of the duly completed form, Banco Finantia will manage the entire process with the transferring bank, in compliance with the legally established deadlines and without the need for any further action by the client.
Complete the Account Switching Service Request Form, which includes the necessary communications to the entities with which you have payments or receipts associated with the account.
Submit the documentation to Banco Finantia via your account manager, through Homebanking, or by email to documentos@finantia.com, so that Banco Finantia can contact the transferring bank and complete the process.
In the context of the provision and use of payment services, electronic money, and insurance contracts whose value does not exceed the jurisdictional threshold of first-instance courts, the client may submit any dispute to a legally authorized Consumer Arbitration Centre, without prejudice to recourse to the competent judicial courts.
Banco Finantia provides its clients with access to the following authorized arbitration entities:
The full list of these entities and their respective contact details can be consulted through the Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs (Consumer Portal) and the Directorate-General for Justice Policy.
